Lightning the Owl
There once was an owl whose job was to deliver letters from wizard to wizard. Sometimes she even had to go in really bad rain or even a big bad snow storm. Her name was Lightning and she was the fastest snow owl than any owl in the world.

One day when it was a nice spring morning she got a letter that said, "I need you to deliver this to somone in far away lands and I need you to get it there fast." She did not know who it was from but she knew where to go and who to give it to. Lightning was the fastest snow owl and she had orange eyes and crooked ears from all her adventures and fierce attacks.
So the next morning she set off with the letter and started flying across the forest. All she brought was a little satchel with a few nuts to nibble on and the letter. At the end of the day when the sun started to go down she was in the snow and made an igloo with the snow to keep warm. Before she had left she had packed some sticks to light a fire with, so she did and then she had a rest and set off the next morning to deliver the letter.
She packed up her sticks from the igloo and blew out the fire she had made the night before.
When she was flying on her way in the cold air she felt some snow drop and suddenly she was in a very bad snow storm, but it was a good thing she was a snow owl otherwise she would probably be lying in the snow dead cold. But luckily she was a snow owl and she was still in the air flying high. Lightning was the fastest owl in the world and she was covered in ruffled up brown feathers and she looked really tough. Suddenly she heard a loud ROAR!!! She was frightened but she went down and then she saw what it was. It was a big polar bear and it sounded like he needed help and so Lighting went down to the polar bear and said, "are you alright - do you need help?" The polar bear looked really weak. "Yes I need lots of help because I haven't had anything to eat for days and why are you in the snow and not in the forest where normal owls live?" said the polar bear. "I'm a snow owl who delivers letters across the world and yes I do sometimes live in the warm forest."
